New York Islanders Minneapolis reviews
Simply Does Not Feel Like Home For the Islanders
Being a life-long fan of the Islanders, the move to Brooklyn was hard, but I was open-minded. After attending several games, I have made up my mind. Simply put....The Islanders home is not in Brooklyn. The building is made for the corporate elite. It feels a place for the "haves" and the "have-nots". We were seated in section 209 Row 19 and it was honestly hard to see the game from up there. The seats are so high up and the view is really bad. The only upgrade over the Barn is the sound system. The lighting is bad but clearly the ice surface is a nightmare. It seemed every 10 minutes they were making a repair to the ice. Prices are expensive, as expected, but some of the concessions closed during the middle of the 2nd period! Are you kidding me!!! From my home on Eastern Long Island, it was 2 1/2 hours each way. The Barn was a 55 minute drive. 2 1/2 hours each way is ridiculous via the LIRR. I won't don't it again. Bottom line is that this is a basketball arena with a hockey team playing in it. It just doesn't work.
